Restoration

This is the post excerpt.

Restoration is the removal of dirt, discolored varnish, consolidation of paint, lining damaged canvas, area patching for small cuts or holes and the in-painting of missing portions. All while imitating as closely as possible the pigments as well as the artists style. Only in required areas in-painting is successfully achieved by imitation the artist intent. It is important to never change the artists intent. Only the finest products are used! All procedures are fully reversible which is essential because it allows future restorers to identify and remove restoration materials. This is done so the original material is never ruined.
